New Chinese Ambassador H.E. Deng Boqing Arrived in Dominica

On November 18th, 2006, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica H.E. Deng Boqing arrived in Dominican airport where he was warmly received by Permanent Secretary Steve Ferrol, Chief Protocol Officer Mrs. Maynard Scotland-Andrew and other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Dominica as well as staff members of the Chinese Embassy. Ambassador Deng gave interviews to Dominica's Government Information Service and Marpin Television in the airport.

H.E. Ambassador Deng Boqing said he is happy to come to Dominica, the Nature Island, and thanked the Dominican people and the media for their kind attention to his arrival. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in March 2004, with great attention and common effort of the two Governments, China and Dominica have enjoyed sound and fast growth of friendly and cooperative relations. The Chinese Government highly appreciates the Dominican Government's adherence to the one-China policy.

H.E. Deng Boqing said, during his tenure as Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, he will make every effort to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples and promote the cooperation between the two Governments. On behalf of the Dominican Government, Mr. Ferrol extendeded the warm welcome to H.E. Ambassador Deng Boqing, and wished the Chinese Ambassador to enjoy good stay and great success in Dominica.

In the evening, the local Dominican media broadcast news relating to H.E. Ambassador Deng Boqing's arrival.
